The Magdalenas step out!

The Magdalena Rug Hookers hosted a reception for our first-ever rug exhibit.  Our rugs filled a large exhibition room, a hallway, and spilled over into two more rooms at the Landis House in Newport PA.  Most of our members have at least one rug on display.

The evening was fun and went very well.  While viewing our exhibit, visitors enjoyed refreshments provided by our members and supporters (thanks, Holly O’Connor of One Good Woman).  We were also serenaded with beautiful live viola music provided by Sadie deWall, a concert violinist.  Sadie owns Little Owls Knit Shop and is a supporter of fiber arts.  Thank you, Sadie!

I think this exhibit is an important step for our group - especially for those who are newer to this craft.  It enhances confidence and it feels good to see one’s creations hanging for all to see.  Our rugs will be on display at the Landis House until early October.

There’s a lot of beauty out there and also at the Landis House in Newport PA!
