Feel the energy!

After what seemed like an eternity, but really wasn’t, I invited a few creative friends over to celebrate my new studio space.  Since this is a new space it needs to be infused with a lot of creative energy.  Sure, I’ve done some rug hooking in there, but I want lots of art to seep into the walls and swirl around the room.  I want to open the door and feel it hit me in the face!

The group of friends wasn’t big, but there was a lot of talent in the room.  I invited the other two Maggie’s Meyvns, of course.  They are my rug hooking friends that are closest to me in physical proximity as well as being near and dear to my heart.  I haven’t known them forever, but can’t imagine my life without them in it.  Also joining us was Britta, my neighbor, who does beautiful painting and collage.  (She is much too modest about her talent.)  Marlene, who makes incredible jewelry (among many other things), was there, too.  I hope these talented women will make it a habit of coming over and using this space often.

I set up refreshments on my worktable at the “business end” of the room, which we enjoyed while we sat and talked at the “relaxing end” of the room.  I thank them for coming over and sharing this time with me, and hope they will be here often in the future.

There’s a lot of beauty out there and these talented women create a lot of it!

The business end of the room doesn't usually look like this, but I like it!
