Fall focus.

With fall in full swing, my summer heat coma is over and I’m feeling more focused.  This week I finished hooking Frogger and even found time to bind him.  This frog first appeared in a round-robin rug swap I did with the other two Meyvns.  I added the frog to Baby Meyvn’s rug and I thought he would make a nice design for a small mat.  I changed him a bit and made him more colorful.  There’s just something about frogs that makes me smile.  The Frog is one of my totem animals, so I have many representations of him around the house.

I also started color planning my rug titled, Be Mine, for the Lori Brechlin Out of Hand rug challenge on Facebook.  I’m going for a primitive look, so I have married some wools for the background and the border.  I also used some onionskins and a bit of chestnut dye to give the wool a mottled “old” look.  If this rug comes out looking like it does in my mind, I’m going to like it.

October is my favorite month and is filled with activities.  I look forward to it all year and then it’s over in a blink.  I’m trying to focus on each day and the beauty it brings to my eyes and my heart.

There’s a lot of beauty out there and in the glorious month of October!

Frogger all bound and finished.
