The dog ate my homework.

Well, not really, but I do feel as though I’ve been working hard with little to show for it.  With my hubby away for a week and four dogs needing walks, special meal prep, playtime, etc, my good intentions of starting on my The Fox and the Grapes rug went out the window.  Maybe this is the universe’s way of teaching me to be more flexible.

Instead, I’ve hooked a couple of Teapot Trivet patterns and started a smaller mat titled, Frogger.  I need to get these done and photographed, so my website guru can work her magic on them.  After that, I can put them on the Shop page of my website. I have wanted to add some smaller mats to my selection of patterns.  Small mats are quick and fun and make great gifts, look good on tabletops, kitchen counters, etc.

I have now accumulated several projects waiting for me to start pulling loops.  There’s the aforementioned The Fox and the Grapes rug; the secret [for now] Barn Project; and a hook-a-long challenge rug that is the brainchild of Lori Brechlin and her Facebook “Out of Hand Rug Hookers” group.  This will definitely be a challenge for me, since I will have to design my rug using Lori’s primitive motifs.  I may hook with primitive cuts of wool, but I don’t design primitive patterns.  But it’s always good to stretch oneself and I’m eager to get started.

This past week has been filled with rain.  I also read that Mercury is retrograde until the 9th, which can make mechanical things go “kerpluie” and I can attest to that.  Things can only go up from here.  Wishing you a week filled with sunshine.

There’s a lot of beauty out there and in planning for a beautiful week ahead.

Teapot Trivets soon to be on my Shop page.
