Baby, it’s cold outside! I love winter, but it’s the bitter wind that’s making it hard to get outside and enjoy the season. I do have to trudge out to the henhouse three or four times a day to take the girls fresh water. No electricity out there! I have heavy bodied breeds, so they actually do better in cold than in very hot weather. As for me, staying inside and hooking is always a great way to spend these chilly days.
Being inside the house so much makes me want to rearrange things and hook new pieces for the walls. My Not Quite White, snowy owl rug, has been hanging on the wall in the dining area of our great room all winter. But now, I’m planning a new rug for that wall. I like to change them out for the seasons, but I seem to be without a spring/summer replacement rug. All of my beach themed rugs, except one, have found other homes. What better way to bring on the warmer weather than to plan a bright summery rug?
I’m still hooking my “mystery rug #2”, which has to be completed by April. I’m having fun with it and can’t wait to show it to you. I have to dye some bright colors for the border. Another project waiting for me is a Meyvn round-robin rug. I have to do the final third on Baby Meyvn’s rug, which is posing me some problems. How do I combine the other two areas of this rug [done by the other two Meyvns] and have it make sense? Or maybe it just won’t make sense. Doing the final third of these rugs is the hardest part.
There’s a lot of beauty out there, but I think I’ll stay inside and hook some bright and colorful rugs.
