Retreating into West Virginia.

On April 10, the Meyvns headed down to Susan Feller’s Retreat Into the Mountains in Romney, West Virginia.  This was my third time and it was the best one yet!

Although spring was slow to begin down there, by the end of the weekend there were new leaves budding out, daffodils blooming and a beautiful purple-pink blush on the redbud trees.

We were treated to some authentic old time-y Appalachian music on Saturday night.  Five men from the group, Rebel Union, played while we hooked.  We joined in the singing and I even learned how to play the spoons.  I’m not musically inclined, but I can play percussion instruments.

The weekend was relaxing and informative and I even got a bit of hooking done on my Five Fish rug.  I’ll show that next week.  In the meantime, browse through the photo album below and see what the other retreaters were working on.  It’s a wonderful group of women.  I look forward to seeing them each year!

There’s a lot of beauty out there and it was very evident in West Virginia.

Spring was a bit behind, but started catching up by the end of the Retreat.

Some very talented musicians from the group, Rebel Union.  They were fun!
